Subject: Olympians, Lieutenants, and Super Heavy Rockets
Hello All!
Welcome to this week’s Letter, where you can read about 3 things I’ve thought about in the last 7 days.
3 Things From Me
A Champion:
Chris Bumstead won his 6th-straight Mr. Olympia in the Men’s Classic Physique division on Saturday.
He’s known not just for his success in bodybuilding, but also his thoughts on experiencing emotions, parenting, success, and a champion’s mentality.
Check out this podcast to hear from one of the best to ever do it.
A Workout:
A Murph is a crossfit workout named after Lt. Murphy, who died heroically in Afghanistan in 2005.
Lt. Murphy created the workout as a soldier, giving it the name “Body Armor”.
In order, you must complete:
1 mile run
100 pullups
200 pushups
300 air squats
1 mile run
*You are also wearing a weighted vest or body armor for the entire workout.
I tried one out this week (minus the weight) and found it to be a good way of combining some aerobic work with strength training.
I never knew air squats could get so hard.
A Busy Week:
Last week, I talked about Elon unveiling the Cyber Cab.
A couple days later another of his companies, SpaceX, successfully caught it’s Super Heavy rocket booster during a test flight.
The Super Heavy booster is 71 meters tall and makes up the bottom portion of the most powerful rocket ever launched.
The top section, Starship, splashed down about an hour later to mark the end of an extremely successful test flight.
Peace,
Jacob Lipke
